Verbatim

Directed at me, "So... you're going to wear that today? Isn't that a pajama shirt?"

"OH! I didn't know pregnant ladies could eat Easy Mac!!"

"Well... since there are kind of a lot of dirty diapers in here, I'm just gonna go..."

"Momma, now can I have some chapstick?"
"I already said 'yes,' don't ask again. I'll get it in just a minute."
"... chapstick..."
"I just told you not to say it again!"
"Oh - I was just practicing chapstick..."

"In this family, we will not kiss dogs."

"Uh... Dora has kind of a football head, huh?"

"Momma, my birthday party - my pretend birthday party - is going to be about The Power of India."

"Joan, what was your favorite part about today?"
"Probably our visitor." (Jude's friend)
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, and even though I was shy and didn't talk very much, I enjoyed it."

"Charlotte! Guess what? One day, we're going to go to church and ride my balance bike in the parking lot - and you... well, you get to sit down, and watch the show!"

Charlotte's non-mullet bob!

In a fit of spontaneity, I chopped off the ends of Charlotte's do (wether or not it was a mullet has yet to be determined) and now she's sporting this little bob. Much like her big sis at this age.

I swear, by the third child, I WILL NOT WAIT THIS LONG TO CHOP OFF THE MULLET!

Your standard pumpkin patch post.

Every good mommy blog needs one, right?
And don't worry, I'll reserve a whole 'nother post for the chaos that is candy & costumes.
You're welcome in advance.

You have permission to be jealous.

Here's Jude and I at one of the art festivals we've done this year. This one's in Jackson at the Mississippi Museum of Art.

Jude left me to man the booth while he went to grab lunch. A few minutes later I hear him screaming my name and running back towards the booth, "A flash mob, Alisha - there's a flash mob!" Do I even have to tell you how important this is? Didn't think so.

I ran behind the booth in time to see the last several dancers gathering their group and finishing their most awesome dance. There was no time to film it with the camera. Still, I stood in awe at the reality that one of my life's goals had been completed.

And then it happened. I (yes, I'm pretty sure the emcee called me by name) was asked to join the group in dancing the (always classy) Cha Cha Slide dance. And like a most responsible parent who couldn't choose between supervising her toddler and making history, I danced with Charlotte clinging tightly to my pregnant hips. I felt a little like Cam (around the 1:07 mark) trying to fit in and dance, but I just followed my natural ability - and the singer's commands - and successfully joined a flash mob.

It wouldn't have been my first choice of song, dance, or venue, but nonetheless - TWO life goals fulfilled. A great day, indeed.

We have fun.

And here's how we do it.

Wearing funny hats. Driving fast cars. Playing at the Children's Museum. Riding bikes with Papa. Wearing Momma's shoes. Eating chocolate batter.

If you can't watch all of the videos now, be sure to check out 1, 2, and 8. They're the best.

Sorry for slacking

Look, I've got a lot to talk about. But I just can't seem to get it out on this clean white blog. Maybe once the Real Housewives Reunion shows are over, I'll once again devote nap time to more important things like updating your inquiring mind with a photo of a baby bump.

But in the meantime, check out this nap time worthy opportunity to help a very talented and beautiful soul that I met in Illinois to pay off her student loans so that she can enter the Religious Life. There's an opportunity for you to purchase a beautiful painting of Our Lady or donate to her cause.

God bless Taryn!
